Washington D.C. — The Foundation for American Security and Freedom (FASF), a nonprofit organization that aims to restore and protect vital national security interests and preserve America’s way of life, goes live with a five figure ad campaign in support of Congress extending Section 215 of the Patriot Act by the June 1st deadline. The ads, which hit the airways on May 18th, are playing in the Washington, D.C. metro market and targeting policy makers to support the data collection provision, which will expire in two weeks without action by Congress.
“Terrorists overseas are certainly trying to recruit people in America,” Bolton said. “Section 215 of the Patriot Act provides a critical element in the war on terror, and keeping America safe at home while securing our interests abroad. I strongly encourage members of Congress to back NSA efforts that support America’s interests in the digital world; without such we are inherently vulnerable.”
The ad is running on WMAL broadcast radio during morning and evening drive times, and Pandora digital radio throughout the day. The ad can be found here: www.fasfreedom.com/security.
FASF provides resources, platform, and leadership to strengthen America’s public discourse, and make clear the inextricable links between strong U.S. foreign and domestic policies through research, analysis, and the public dissemination of studies and opinions about foreign and domestic policy.
In addition to the FASF, Ambassador Bolton runs the John Bolton PAC and John Bolton SuperPAC, which aim to raise the issue of national security policy in federal elections. In the 2014 election cycle the PACs raised a combined amount of $7.5 million and made contributions of more than $470,000 to Republican candidates for elected office who demonstrated a commitment to strong national security policies and renewing America’s leadership abroad.
